Acoustic (2)
Acoustic (steel string) guitars have heavier bracing than classical guitars, usually with a narrower neck and a sharper voice. The strings are steel and are thinner and have much greater tension than classical and a little tougher on the fingers of both hands. Maybe better for picking and strumming and more contemporary music. -
Classical (12)
Classical (nylon strings) guitars sound mellower than acoustic guitars. The necks may be wider, the strings have a larger diameter, and the string tension is much less, so they are easier on the fingers. Probably better for classical and finger-style music. -
